For those of you who read the blog regularly, you’ll know that means TGIF. That’s my traditional Friday post title. So the thought is there, even if the words aren’t. I’m so thankful that it’s Friday, I could just squee. This weekend Shannon and I are going to meet some friends from the campground down at the casino in Lawrenceburg on Sat. and play a little. Saved a little bit from the tax refund (can’t be responsible ALL the time now can I?) and Shannon did a lot of work in the back yard trying to get it so we don’t look like we have our own Forest/jungle so I’m paying him a little bit from the insurance settlement money. It’s been several years since we’ve been to the casino. We used to go a couple of times a year and at least once with my dad when we were home before he passed. He LOVED the casino. So in it’s own sick and twisted little way, this is my tribute to him. Anyway, send those good luck vibes my way ya’all.

I’m having a sale today and tomorrow. Woo Hoo. ALL of my paper packs are marked down to just $1 at DSG.

So I hope that you’ll stop by and check out the various paper packs I have done.  I’m going to be retiring some of them, mainly the older ones.  So stock up and save.

Also my newest pack will be available sometime today too.  I was playing around with diamond shapes and overlays and started with these masculine colors and got to thinking cards, hense the name – Jacks or Better.

There are 7 deeply textured diamond pattern papers, 4 solid papers and 6 worn, torn and ripped png file papers.  It’s a big download, I broke it into 4 files.  But I really like the colors for those manly pages we all have but never seem to get to.    They’ll be on sale for just a dollar Friday and Saturday too.

I’m also working on a design contest.  I’m hoping to learn more things and get some insight on what I can do to make better designs, products and also pages.  So they had a little pre-contest challenge.  Here’s my entry.  It’s a second attempt.  I tweeked it a little bit.

Did you pick up a copy of the Spirit of Summer charity collab?  I’m so impressed that it has helped raise over $3000 in just a week.  So many fantabulous designers involved and wow some of the CT’s that got ahold of it have made some amazing pages with it.  I’m really proud to have been a part of it.  Haven’t seen it yet?  Go and take a look.  I think that we may revolutionize how charity collabs are done in the future.

Ok, I hope that you have a wonderful weekend.  Don’t forget about the dollar days sale on my papers at DSG.  Check back next week for new freebies.

They used to actually play music on MTV????  An email discussion with Kristine got me trippin back down musical memory lane tonight.  Shannon and spent about a half hour going through some old songs on YouTube;  Smithereens, The Cars, Greg Kihn Band, Billy Idol.  I could go on and on but here’s one I wanted to share.  Do you remember this one?????

And here’s another one of my favorite love songs from the late 80′s.

As Shannon put it, the 80′s; Back when rock bands were ugly and music was real! And the very first band I ever saw live in concert. J. Geils Band for the Love Stinks tour. Peter Wolf, the lead singer often hung out in Detroit and I remember he played a show on New Years Eve at a little bar that I hung out at. It was 1989. Damn, that was 20 years ago………………..

I could go on and on with great videos from my youth. Take a few minutes and do a Youtube search of some of your teenage faves. It’s a great trip down memory lane.

It was a pretty low key weekend here.   I’m sitting here on Sunday night listening to the Nascar race, about to go check out the red carpet for the Oscars.  Thought I’d take a minute to tell you about my new kit and give you a new freebie.  But before I do, tell me did you watch any of the Oscars?  For a change, I actually saw a few of the nominated movies this year.  Well, at least 2 of the best supporting actor nominees – Heath Ledger (such a tragic loss) and Robert Downey Jr.  I’m still confused about the Tropic Thunder nomination.  Yes, he was good but the movie itself was horrible.  Well at least in my opinion.  What about you?  Any of the big movies this year?

Take a look at my new kit, Harmony.  I kinda had a theme going with the last kit, Serenity and I’m working on a Tranquility.  Trying to bring about peace. lol.  Anyway, it’s on sale at both stores; Wenchd Grafix and Digital Scrap Garden.  For the next week, it’s only $3.00.

Look at the 2 pages that Lynn did for me.

She’s amazing and makes my stuffs look good too.  I’ve had such a hard time scrapping lately.  And I’ve only done a few challenges at the Garden this month.  I’m hoping that I’ll pick it up in March.  I need to get to work on the March quote challenge too.  hmmmmmmm

I know it’s a little early for St. Pat’s day stuff.  It’s not really been a big celebrating day for me in several years (that’s what happens when you grow up sometimes :) ), especially since I’m not Irish.  And now it’s the anniversary of my father’s death.  So you can understand why it’s not big in my household.  But I do have a freebie for you.  It’s not really St. Pats day stuff, but does have the Irish theme.  It’s a paper pack called Celtic Rain.  Take a look.

And don’t forget about the Bushfire Charity Kit.  It can be yours for a direct donation to the  Australian Red Cross or Salvation Army of only $5.  Take a look at the kit.  To read more about it, go to the post below.  Oh yeah and there’s a Flerg’s glitter set in there too……

So was that enough eye candy for you?  Hope you have a great Monday!!!
